"The Realm of Golden Trees" is how I titled my "Golden" series. For many years now I have dedicated myself almost exclusively to painting, drawing on nature and its relationship with mankind for inspiration.
I love nature with all my heart. Its multitude of shades feels so rich that I find that the color gold is the best way to express its plethora. It's almost impossible to transfer onto canvas something as continually changing as the wind, the flight of birds, light, and shadows. At the same time, the silence of trees and the calmness of falling leaves often makes me want to present those phenomenon as idle and static. At other times, this calm sometimes awakens a burst of accumulated energy that brings forth my abstract work.
With regard to the old masters, I tend to copy from time to time the great master, Jan Vermeer van Delft; it gives me the chance to find myself in a world of quiet and concentration.
