Artist Statement

Many concepts inspire my creativity: nature, its beauty, the deep and mysterious connection between all elements of the universe, human emotions. I don't paint things as seen through my eyes, but as they are transformed by my feelings, beliefs and thoughts. I love using an acrylic medium due to its versatility, great pigments and ability to dry quickly, but I don't apply paints strictly with brushes. I use them only for realistic effects. I love using palette knifes to avoid being too meticulous with details and to be able to lay paint in thick layers. I'm experimenting with materials, for instance, rice paper, fabric and different acrylic products. My paintings, with their variety of textures, are interesting even under a magnifying glass. The symbolism within my work is like a thread, weaving in and out, sometimes closer to the surface and other times deep beneath. I leave the interpretation of my creations up to the viewer, knowing that each art piece resonates in different ways and on various levels with every person.
